Step Up Revolution was one of my anticipated films this year and I guess it's not that bad. I was really hoping for more pulse quickening stunts and stuffs like maybe a little highlight on parkour and flips this time ( I sound like a boy). The plot is like the previous ones, boy meets girl then hey, can we date. Boy belongs in a group called Mob who dances in unlikely places and aims to win in a video contest over the net. The lines are delivered monotonously which make me cringe and makes me think they are just reading. Well! The casts are skilled dancers not award winning actors so I can okay with that and I'm still green with envy because I can't dance the way they do. Hahaha!
Step Up Revolution still has the same infectious "bust your moves" effect on its viewers. There are also cameo roles for some actors from the previous film. I'm still swooning over the act in the art gallery and elevator. The concepts, lighting, costumes and timing are really cool. It's so eye candy. The trampoline trick is very neat as well. The foot works are great. The logo concept is kinda overboard. I mean with all those stuffs going around and the chance of getting caught they really have the time to do that? Realistic? Not so. But hey! Its a movie.
The flattering fact as the word revolution in the title suggested, the movie gets political. It don't merely focus on " I need to prove them" issues but it portrays the scenario when development comes in the way and people need to express how they feel in a way they only know how; through dancing.
So if you're someone who don't mind sloppy acting, very predictable stortyline and loves to dance, Step Up Revolution can certainly entertain you and after that??? I guess no more.
